Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME extension is the single TLD meant for personal websites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domain names remained working.

Through our firm, you can grab your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no special regulations on who can purchase a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
