Dot IT Domains

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT ccTLD is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with associates and pals. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information technology sector in view of the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is known all over the world.

Having in mind that .IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be purchased through a 3rd-party provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can obtain a .IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. The only limitation is that the person purchasing such a domain is required to be located in a country from the European Union.

Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such third-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
